Trial stamps remain in PDF files after the program has been activated

The situation may be caused by malfunction of ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 Licensing service or by insufficient user permissions. Try to follow the recommendations below:

Restart ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 Licensing Service:

1. Press Windows + R buttons on the keyboard.
2. Enter services.msc and press Enter.
3. Find the ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 Licensing Service in the list of services and right-click it.
4. Select Properties from the shortcut menu.
5. Select the General tab.
6. Check if the Automatic item is selected in the Startup type drop-down list. If a different item is selected, select Automatic.
7. Click the OK button.
8. In the Services dialog, right-click the ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 Licensing Service and select either Start or Restart from the shortcut menu.
9. Launch ABBYY PDF Transformer to make sure the trial stamps are no longer added to PDF files.

In case restarting the licensing service does not change the situation, make sure the user account that is used to run ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 has the Read permission for the folder that contains the license file.

• In Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, the license file is in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ABBYY\PDF Transformer\3.00\Licenses
• In Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 the license file is in C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\PDF Transformer\3.00\Licenses

These folders are hidden, so you will not be able to access them unless the Show hidden folders option is enabled on your computer.

To check whether the account used to run ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 has the Read permission for the Licenses folder, follow the steps below.

1. Right-click the Licenses folder.
2. Select the Properties item from the shortcut menu.
3. Go to the Security tab.
4. Select the account used to run ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 to view its permissions for the Licenses folder. If the account doesn't have the Read permission, assign it to the account.

After you have assigned the required permissions to the user account restart ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0 Licensing Service once again and make sure that the trial stamps do not appear.
